"...feeds my insatiable hunger for tasty Bass rhythms, scratches that persistent Breaks itch that's always so difficult to reach and answers my ever-increasing Dub cravings.... Anatomist is UK producer Neil Sweet and he's been making his beautiful brouhaha for more than twenty years. Black Smoke Curls is his third full-lengther (all on Machine Records) and consolidates his myriad interests in Dub, Breaks, Dubstep and IDM. As heard on Resonance Extra - Switched On!, Sound Waves and Lippy Kid's shows on Radio Free Matlock, Space Is the Place, Museum of Dust, the Institute of Spectra-sconic Sound, The Other Window, Dandelion Radio, and Electrodome.

We're delighted to release a new album from Anatomist aka Neil Sweet (https://theanatomist.net/home) who has been writing and performing his own brand of distorted break-dub and sprained melodies since the late 90s.

Black Smoke Curls is Neil's third full-length album on Machine. Mile-wide bass lines, brittle percussion and drunken beats combine with found sounds and multi-layered distortion to disorienting effect.

Anatomist has been busting bass bins live around South Wales and Cornwall since the earliest incarnation of Machine Records’ Terminal nights. Live highlights include supporting Schneider TM at The Point in Cardiff, Client at Clwb Ifor Bach, and Compass Point Festival.

Anatomist has received airplay on The Selector, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio One, Dandelion Radio, Another Fine Mess, and more. His last singles, 'Come Closer' and 'Aqualung', featured on BBC Introducing Wales, Sound Waves on Radio Free Matlock, Dandelion Radio, and The Other Window. Previous release "Another Country" in 2016 won airplay in Wales and on BBC Introducing Cornwall.
